During my trip to New York, I took a tour of some denim showrooms, one of which is Current/Elliot. It’s a brand that I have been very interested in, as they have such a relaxed cool style, that’s fashionable without being cheesy or sloppy. The designers, Emily Current and Meritt Elliott have a background as vintage lovers and became stylists in LA. They hit the denim map with their boyfriend jeans and are the new rising must-have brand for the style conscious.
It was great to see all the new collections close up and in person. Luckily, I can fit the sample size (not something I’m used to) so I was able to try on the fits of their jeans. The denim all was lush, not too thin or stretchy, yet comfortable. I felt relaxed in all everything I tried on. It was also a great opportunity to try on a pair of the high waisted skinny jeans spotted on Erin in LA, I actually fell more in love with their high-waisted jegging which was more flattering and had a tighter fit around the calves.
I didn’t want to bore you with shots of skinny jeans (they tend to all look alike on film!) So I pulled some of my favorites from the racks. The sales lady told me that corduroy would be hot this fall, and they do have a great boyfriend cut trouser cord. But I was already spending too much time there, so I’ll have to come back to that when it comes out!

Have you heard of the Current/Elliott and Marni collaboration? It’s about to come out in stores soon, I love how this collaboration had concrete roles, all in Current/Elliott denim, some jeans were the C/E design with a Marni screen print, and some were Marni designs in the C/E denim. Quite genius really.

All in all seeing these in the flesh and trying things on really made me want more what I already wanted. I love the relaxed nature of the jeans and the the stylish edge. It’s a great combination.
